The radiation-free tomography device developed by Turkish scientists won the gold medal prize in the competition organized by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Agency.

Turkish scientists have developed a radiation-free tomography device to image the bladder. Prof. Dr. Yunus Söylet, Assoc. Dr. Elif İnce, Prof. Dr. Cenk Büyükünal, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Eliçevik, and Prof. Dr. Haluk Emir have developed the device with which the pregnant women, babies and children can be screened without being exposed to radiation, when necessary. The tomography device developed was also awarded a gold medal in the international competition organized by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Agency.

Assoc. Dr. Elif İnce stated the following on the tomography device: “With the radiation-free electrical impedance tomography, we use only electrical signals to obtain 3D images with higher resolution without exposing the body to radiation which the tomographs and PET devices we use today have.”
