We Would Write Letters!

THE EXHIBITION ¨LETTERS FROM BEDRI RAHMI EYÜBOĞLU AND HIS CONTEMPORARIES – WE WOULD WRITE LETTERS¨ HAS OPENED AT THE İŞ ART KIBELE GALLERY.

The exhibition consists of the letters of the artist and the prominent names of literature, art, politics and the world of business, which shed light to the era of their time. These letters, which reflect a crucial part of the life of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu that begun at the Fine Arts Academy, his years of education in Paris and many journeys that he had undertaken to Anatolia due to his passion of art, has come to light for the first time ever. The exhibition includes all of the letters written by the artist himself as well as those that were sent to him being compiled in a book and published by the Türkiye İş Bankası Culture Publishing. The book has been prepared by Hughette Eyüboğlu, the daughter-in-law of the artist, edited by Ruken Kızıler and the design of the exhibition has been undertaken by Emre Senan. The exhibition also displays the original handwritings and envelopes with the drawings of the artist himself as well as the portraits of those whom the artist had written letters to. The visitors also have the opportunity to write letters to their beloved ones with the papers and envelopes designed by the artist.
