Turkey National Amputee Football Team is European Champion

In the final match of European Amputee Football Federation European Championship which took place in Istanbul, Turkish National Amputee Football Team became the champion defeating the English team.

Within the scope of “Turkey Plays Football” project supported by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), National Amputee Football Team under Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled (TBESF), played against England in the final match. In the match held in Vodafone Park, Turkey finished the first half 1-0 ahead with the goal Ömer Güleryüz scored in 25th minute. In the 50th minute England scored a goal and made the score 1-1. Osman Çakmak scored another goal in the following minutes and Turkey won the match 2-1. The match was followed by Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, General Director of Sports Mehmet Baykan, President of Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled Arif Ümit Uztürk, President of Beşiktaş Club Fikret Orman and President of Galatasaray Club Dursun Özbek. Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak presented the Amputee National Team with medals and cups.
